Some lo-fi indie goodness straight from the bowels of the American South...is Nashville considered the south? Regardless a short sweet song from these Nashville kids.
The song is Tiny Echoes

Hi.
Theres a pretty good band from Chicago called Morning Recordings. Solo work of Pramod Tummala. The album Music for places was recorded with some solo work and the contribution of many other musicians, generally from around the Chicago area. Also Fred Lonberg-Holm, Cellist of Wilco has an appearance. The song I am putting up is really relaxing and the whole album is very laid-back.

Melochrome-Pramod's old band.
They have some good downloads.
Enjoy of course

So I was looking through my Mp3's and found by a band called Bishop Allen and the song was called The Monitor.
I researched the band and found out the song was from their March EP, named "March".
The Band is doing one Ep a month for this year.
They provide alot of mp3's on their site.
Thanks to Sean for letting me in on this gem-of-a-song. Cursive, Saddle Creek, that's all you need to know.
Cursive - The Recluse
Jim Guthrie, a musician most infamous for his commercial-hit (pun intended), "Hand's In My Pocket", has a great solo career. Out of Toronto, Jim plays an eclectic taste of pop tunes. Here's one of my favourites, "So Small". It's not what I had to drink that makes whatever I feel sink.

Hi.
I've been looking for some good electronic or instrumental music lately and I came across this band.
They're a great electronic/pop band from Montreal. They're getting pretty big, playing good shows all around. They are playing North by North East in Toronto this year. They did a show for CBC radio 3 and have played numerous other festivals.
The band is called Hexes and Ohs. This song is really great, the whole album is outstanding. I highly recommend giving it a listen.
Listen listen listen.

Hexes and Ohs- Alive Until Saturday Night
They are a psychedelic rock band from Tampa Band. This song is really enjoyable and has been a constant on my playlist for the past week or so.

You can buy their cd from here.
Candy Bars- Enough to choke a cold air
Just today, Matisyahu and Gnarls Barkley on Much Music back-to-back! Today we have a great comedian, David Cross, who is not only featured in the Ted Leo DVD I lent John, but has a great cd out called Shut Up You Fucking Baby! on Sub Pop. Go check him out.
David Cross - I've taken a popular contemporary pop song and changed the lyrics to comment on the proliferation of Starbucks in my neighbourhood
Hi
I didn't love Dane Cook until right now...yeah, I know, I was missing out.
It's warm outside but it's soaking wet, and I kind of love today.
Anyway, here's a song by a great saddle-creek band that I am sure you already know, but I will share anyway.
This band is my top five from the label and I think this song is excellent.

I really enjoyed "I Don't Know Why".
Chemical Love Song
This is another fine band from Alien 8 Recordings (alongside The Unicorns, Think About Life to name a few). Slow, rhythmically sound, and selective to your mood.

Hi.
Thank you John and Tommy for allowing me to post here, you sexy bastards.
I was just listening to what I think is the best ultra-pop song...ever? perhaps...
I came across this band by accident and downloaded the full album, and I absolutely adore it.
Enjoy

All Girl Summer Fun Band-Later Operator
Here's another great band from White Whale Records (hometown: Vancouver), the first being The Castle Project. Acoustic with classic rock roots (reminds me of Canned Heat's "Going up the Country" for some reason). Nonetheless soothing and quiet.
The Mohawk Lodge - Making Music
The song Paul cries is a single from Montreal's "Think about Life" self-titled debut with a catchy dance beat which will make you want to dance like an idiot...well it made me want to.
Think About Life - Paul Cries
The song is called "Did I step on your trumpet?". After hearing it for the first time about a month ago I have been addicted to it.
Danielson- "Did I step on your trumpet?"
Mr. Jurado used to play in hardcore bands with Dave Bazan (of Pedro The Lion fame). His successful solo career is more toned down, with acoustic ballads and the occasional head boppin'/foot tappin' electric guitar song; this is one of those. Not quite folk, and surely not hardcore, this tune will make you whip out the ole' air guitar nonetheless. Enjoy.
Damien Jurado - Texas To Ohio
3 Mp3's from Secretly Canadian . One of the more Generous Labels that allows people to download Mp3's to stir intrest in the bands. So if you like these songs check out the bands and help suport them.
