When I saw the title of your post, I thought of "Fuck, Yes! A Guide to the Happy Acceptance of Everything" by the Rev. Wing F. Fing. It offers nothing less than the secret to life.
As does any close listen to MBV. So maybe they're not that far apart after all.
MBV does bring me closer to a higher power so I think you may be on to something. It appears that I have bridged the gap between music philosophy.
