Goodnight West End Avenue

Hi.
This band I am going to post about is simply amazing. That's probably a good word.
We have The Age of Rockets!
I could listen to these songs forever, and I just might, and I think that you should give them a bit of time as well.
Comparable to PlayRadioPlay(See my last post) but with more than one member, this band writes great dreamy-synth-pop songs perfect for airy autumn days.
You can be sure to find songs you'll enjoy over at their Myspace and the website above.
While you're at it you might as well check out a side project of theirs with female vocals at The Robot Explosion Myspace page
Yeah, I'm pretty much a huge whore for Myspace

Enjoy your sunday with a:

Las cruces Jail

Okay here is the deal.

I watched the movie The Proposition the other day and I swear to god I think I was born in the wrong century. I would make the most badass Australian Cowboy. Hands down no contest I would probally rule the outback. It was a sweet movie and got me in a country western mood and I needed to continue that mood so i went searching for a band that would aid me with that. I went through my extensive collection of music and got Saddle Creek's Two Gallants. A sweet band that has an old western feel to them singing about murder, theft, the old west, and racism. They have a harmonica so that is enough for me to like it.

You will know me by the Trail of Dead.....

I've got three good friends. Conrad, Keely, and Conrad Keely.

Of course, I don't personally know Conrad Keely--lead singer/drummer/genious behind "...And you will know us by the trail of dead"--but we've shared common bonds, somehow, someway. The band is centered around Austin, TX where recent appraisal of the scene has caused some great exposure for the likes of Voxtrot and The Octopus Project.

Here's a live Trail of Dead show, available in multiple formats:

I Choose Zach Braff

Hi.
John, I am sorry that I am posting a post on the same day as you, but let's consider this a lucky saturday. Double update saturday, September Sixteenth.
This is important though.[And it may be long]

Last night I went to see "The Last Kiss", and it was incredible. Although for the first bit I couldn't stop thinking of Andrew Largeman, eventually I got over it and accepted Zach Braff as Michael and loved every part of the film. I thought the music was placed very nicely and the whole story kept me very interested. I think the ending could have been a little longer so that we'd find more out of the other characters(I won't give anything away) but other than that I thought it was amazing.

I will plug music, as this is, ya=ou know, a music blog: It won't be Snow Patrol either... oh.
But I would like to say that a band called-
Athlete is outstanding, and if it weren't for the film I wouldn't have found out about them. They may also be found Here
The whole soundtrack is really good. There's a great Cary Brothers song in the movie as well and also songs from:
Rachael Yamagata, Rufus Wainwright, Coldplay, and Imogen Heap, and a bunch more.

The movie is really good and I would highly recommend you spend tonight or any other day you get a chance, watching this movie and then going and buying The soundtrack, it's worth it.

Sorry for stealing your time and John's post.

Land of Talk

This montreal band is coming to Windsor on Monday at the Thirsty Scholar and I better see everyone there considering it is an all ages show. They are very Emily Haines-ish and that is always sweet. Speaking of Emily CJAM just got the cd so I can finally take a listen. But back to Land of Talk and Damn this ADD straight to hell.

Enchantment

Lily Frost; beautiful name, beautiful face. This track is a cross between the ultimate clap-along-sing-along kids song, and a 1950's transistor radio hit. Proudly, it's grade-A material. I wish she was coming to Windsor sometime soon.

(check out "Enchantmant", among others)

Christian Hansen

We have been terribly addicted to this gentleman from out west, and this isn't the first time a westerner has stolen our heart. Except this time its not Chad van Gaalen but a new face named Christian Hansen.

His Myspace

We got two sweet songs by him that we enjoyed greatly and so did the listeners to our show on thursday.

Christian Hansen - West Coast Wives

Christian Hansen - The Rapture

Enjoy Kids,
