This Year's Gems

In my trials and tribulations of re-downloading my entire music collection, I have come across many specific and persistently brilliant Canadian albums, equally deserving are their American counterparts. Exposed are some of the albums below:

Detroyer - Trouble In Dreams

Melodic chambre pop extraordinaire Dan Bejar gives his contemporary interpretations of human historical relativity.

The Acorn - Glory Hope Mountain

I'm getting tired of them with every listen, but it's just a seasonal thing.

Human Highway - Moody Motorcycle

Structuralist folk music from two contemporary pastel yuppie rockers.

Oxford Collapse - Remember The Night Parties

Frat sonic Sub Pop signees reminisce on mid-90's octave power chords.

***Plants and Animals - Parc Avenue

Best CD this decade, please sit down.

Ra Ra Riot - The Rhumbline

NYC Barsuk band are bouncy melodies with a responsive vocalist.

The Walkmen - Me & You

This band produces monumental music that gets better as you age.
